Are you a young Master Student, PhD candidate, post-doc or young professional from around the world, interested in the future of European and global foreign and security policies?

We invite you to two days of workshops, debates and proposals at the third edition of the Young Security Conference, organised by the think-tank EuropaNova Germany. Our seminar connects young innovative thinkers with experts from policy and research. You can find more information about EuropaNovaGermany and past editions of the Young Security Conference here. The YSC 2022 takes place on 3-4 June in Munich at the historic Amerikahaus, with sessions open to the Fellows and the public, which will simultaneously be streamed live. The YSC is a unique initiative that stands out for its participatory and innovative character. The aim is to bring together young talents and experts for two days and to formulate concrete policy proposals on the future of European security and defence policy. This year, the YSC will host policy sessions with high-ranking policy makers & some of the best thinkers from all over Europe!

Participants can apply for an accommodation and travel grant (maximum €400). Travel and accommodation must be organised independently. If you wish to make use of this, please indicate this in your application. Accommodation and travel will be reimbursed after the event.

Please send, to, your CV and two additional documents:

  • (1) Motivation to attend.

Answering questions such as: What is your background and your interest in foreign and security policy? Which particular aspect of security are you more interested in and why? Check our ‘5 topic pillars’ for reference.

  • (2) Short essay (up to 500 words) on: concrete proposal(s) to improve EU foreign and security policy this year.

Answering questions such as: Why are your proposals relevant? What problems would they help to solve? What practical steps would you propose to implement them?

Every submission will be evaluated by our scientific board.
